Research Helpdesk
The EMPEA helpdesk service, available exclusively to our members, includes unlimited access to EMPEA’s resource library as well as an allocated number of annual hours for custom requests. EMPEA’s resource library includes EMPEA-produced, off-the-shelf reports and statistics such as:
- Archived Quarterly Review articles or EMPEA surveys or fundraising reports.
- Lists of Active Funds in the Market focused on a particular market or sector.
- Fundraising or investment amounts for a particular country or region.
- EM PE performance data from Cambridge Associates.
- Information about third-party resources on a particular topic.
Members are also entitled to a fixed number of custom research hours per membership year. Requests involving additional analysis or research are managed in one-hour increments, allocated according to the complexity of the request and the availability of information. Full and LP members can request up to 2 hours custom research service per membership year, and Premier members are entitled to up to 16 hours annually. Examples of custom requests include:
- Time-series trend analysis of fund sizes, valuations or deal sizes for a particular region or sector.
- Trends in institutional investor participation in a particular region, e.g., list of local and foreign LPs investing in Latin America.
- Case studies demonstrating development impact.
- M&A and IPO volumes in emerging markets vs. developed markets (e.g., number transactions, number take private deals).
